MATLAB Simulink Controls Engineer Hybrid EV Powertrain

We have a position for an experienced MATLAB Simulink algorithm
development engineer to develop new and modify existing features.
This role will dev elop and test new software for powertrain and
drivetrain solutions to deliver industry leading performance and
vehicle range

What you will be doing:
- The Powertrain Controls Engineer will lead the controls and
software development to design and develop compliant embedded
control software for Class 8 truck applications
- This individual will be also responsible for driving the use
and adoption of Model Based Development methodologies during the
VPI process, which includes Auto Code Generation (ACG) and Hardware
in the Loop (HIL) testing during the design and verification &
validation of embedded control software on new products.
- Design, develop, implement, test, debug, troubleshoot, optimize
and maintain embedded control software for powertrain and
drivetrain control ECUs from low-level base software (HAL, complex
device drivers) all the way up to the application layer, under
various software architecturescovering all Software Development
Life cycle (SDLC) activities of embedded software.
- Support model based development, auto code generation and
integration of power electronics and electric machine application
control software using Matlab/Simulink tool chain to meet control
system requirements.
- Software integration, releases and maintenance using software
configuration management and version control tools (GIT,
etc.).
- Interface and coordinates with system engineering team and
power electronics & control design teams to ensure control software
requirements are decomposed appropriately and thoroughly analyzed
prior to software design, development, and implementation
- Develop requirements, interfaces, and supervisory control
algorithms for torque path, thermal, high voltage controls,
functional safety, and other functions
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following
areas:
- Electronics OR controls background
- MATLAB Simulink development and Simulink simulation
- Knowledge of integration of base software and application
software components. Ability to debug the software, identify, fix
or report the issues using a debugger.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with ETAS and MDA
- Experience with real-time operating systems for embedded
software development.
- Hybrid/electric torque path, thermal, or HV
architectures
- Knowledge of embedded control software development using the
'V' process for both design and verification/validation
activities.
- Good communicator written and verbal

What you'll need to be successful:
- College, university, or equivalent BA or BS degree in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software
Engineering.
- Experience in developing and implementing control algorithms
following software develop lifecycle using industry best design
practices and guidelines.
- Familiar with basics and controls of various power electronics
devices and converters. Experience with various microcontroller
platforms and standard peripheral components.
- At least 3+ years of relevant, applicable experience and
development knowledge base software function modules,
configuration, and integration.
- DC, CAN, QSPI and Vector tools
- Experience in embedded control software design and development
using C/C++.
- Experience in low-level device driver development (SPI, UART,
CAN, LIN, I2C, PWM, etc.) and boot-loader development.
