Job Description Job Description Division: 133 - SAN-SVC Position: Service Technician Reports To: Branch Manager Employee Type: Full-time Pay Range: $22.00-$32.00 an hour Job Summary A field service technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance and repair service for hoist and crane equipment. A field service technician will also uphold the highest level of professional integrity and ethics as required to instill customer confidence and continued success in service. Essential Duties · Troubleshoot, repair and inspect overhead cranes and hoists, below the hook devices and other lifting devices. · Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment. · Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed. · Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs for customers. · Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements. · Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations; performing OSHA/ANSI equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; and responding to emergency service/breakdown calls. · Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist. · Builds and maintains customer confidence by maintaining good response time, informing customer of problems, and completing the job in a timely manner. · Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment and Equipment Used This job operates in a field environment. Equipment used includes hand tools; power tools; lift equipment; material handling equipment, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, gloves; safety glasses, lanyard and body harness. · 50% Indoor 50% Outdoor. Sitting while driving to worksites. · Standing/Walking: Frequent · Fine motor coordination/manual dexterity: Frequent. · Rotation: Frequent. · Physical demand level: Moderate. Material handling: · Floor to waist: Occasional. Lifting may be performed at all levels from floor to overhead, up to 100 pounds. · Pushing/pulling: Occasional. · Physical demand level; Frequent. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but this is a 24/7 service position. This position regularly requires long hours (up to but not to exceed 14 hours) and weekend work. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business days, although out-of-town and overnight travel is expected.
