Director of Health Information Management (HIM) Directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to top management. Bachelor's degr Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region. Position Overview The Director of Health Information Management manages and directs all activities of the Health Information Management (HIM) Department, including the transcription, coding, and release of information functions. The Director is responsible for the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the patient's medical record. The Director ensures compliance with federal and state laws as they relate to medical records and coding, and ensures that all hospital and departmental policies and procedures are in accordance with the requirements of CMS, JCAHO, HIPAA, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and all other regulatory agencies. The Director functions as the hospital's Privacy Officer. What We Offer
