POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and coordinates the planning, production and functions of the Information Services Biomedical Engineering group and processes, maintaining electronic data processing and critical patient care biomedical equipment. - Responsible for coordinating the development of advance procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster so that critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame and amount of loss minimized. Responsible for participating in any actual recovery efforts. - Promotes the University Health System Customer Relation's policy

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field plus eight (8) years of information systems experience, four (4) of which are in a supervisory capacity of a programming or technical support staff is required - OR - Eight (8) years of related experience with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity or technical support staff is required. -Four years of generally-related work experience in a leadership position in Biomedical Engineering. - Knowledge of HIPAA related to Biomedical, Texas records retention laws and strong systems knowledge is required. - Experience in a supervisory capacity is required. - System analysis experience and project management is preferred. - Experience in multiple vendor and platform environments is preferred. - Knowledge of healthcare automated systems preferred
