continue to learn!Job Summary and Qualifications As an Apheresis
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology
unit, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of
apheresis procedures while providing optimum nursing care in a safe
environment. You will coordinate, direct, evaluate, and modify the
delivery of patient care. * You will be responsible for the
performance of all aspects of Apheresis procedures, including
patient assessment monitoring during procedures and recording of
all pertinent data * You will create a plan of care based on
patient assessment and care standards * You will provide the
patient, donor, and family with education to promote understanding
of the disease process and treatment * You will emphasize the
importance supportive care to the patient, donor, and family during
Apheresis * You will administer prescribed medications * You will
review physician's orders for assigned patients and ensure they are
carried out accurately * You will notify the physician of changes
in the patient's condition * You will organize and maintain the
cleanliness of patient rooms and the work environment Job
Requirements Experience * 1 year of clinical nursing experience as
a Registered Nurse (RN) * 2 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) with
experience in Medical/Surgical/Oncology - preferred * 1 year of
dialysis or Apheresis infusion experience - preferred Education *
Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) * Bachelor of Science in
Nursing (BSN) - preferred Licenses and Certifications * Current
State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered
Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained
within 90 days of hire * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per
St. David's Healthcare policy * Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
Chemotherapy Provider - preferred * Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
certification - preferred St. David's South Austin Medical Center
