Overview--The Cedar Park Regional Medical Center Wound Care Center
is an outpatient clinic that specializes in treating patients with
chronic, slow- or non-healing wounds. We offer evidence-based
protocols and cutting-edge treatment to ensure our patients' wounds
heal quickly. Our specially trained team of doctors, nurses and
technicians provide comprehensive and cost-effective wound care to
all patients, enabling them to return to a full life free from the
pain of chronic wounds.--Our multi-disciplinary panel of physicians
specializes in podiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery and
general medicine and offers our patients a well-rounded approach to
wound healing.--Position Overview--We are seeking a Registered
Nurse (RN)--for a Clinical Coordinator position in our Wound Care
clinic. The Wound Care--Clinical Coordinator--is responsible for
the clinical aspects of the Wound Care Center and coordinates
services in providing quality care to patients with chronic
non-healing wounds.--Responsibilities--
- Provide continuity of care for patients in collaboration with
physicians with accountability for planning, implementation and
evaluation of comprehensive wound care involving multiple
disciplines and sites of care
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of diagnostic data related to
wound care by the ability to review cases for quality improvement,
identifying key diagnostic data needed and integrating it into
assessment, care and outcome
- In collaboration with the Program Director, provides direct
supervision to clinical staff, including the hiring, disciplining,
discharging, performance review, orientation and utilization--
- Provides case management to a group of patients providing
specific assessments according to protocols and procedures,
clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and
patient/caregiver education related to wound care management
- Integrate knowledge of reimbursement into patient
communication, collaborating with third party payers and
professionals
- Responsible for clinical oversight for the treatment of
hyperbaric patients, including HBO patient assessment and chamber
operation, as required
- Collaborates with other health care providers, Wound Care
Center Physicians, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding
clinic and patient needs
- Consistently looks at current processes and procedures and
identifies and implements areas of improvement while adhering to
HIPAA, JCAHO, DOH as well as hospital and DCS requirements
- Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and
constructive feedback
- Collaborates with Program Director and Medical Director to
develop, implement and manage a continuous Performance Improvement
Program (PIP)
- Collaborates with Program Director in coordination of program
objectives, from a budgetary and financial perspective
- Collaborates with Program Director and Medical Director to
achieve Wound Care Center quality indicators
- Ensure staff attendance at mandatory education and monitoring
of safe practices and safety education, including but not limited
to, hazardous waste, CPR, body mechanics, infection control,
exposure control, adverse reporting, fire and disaster
planning
- Other duties as assigned--Qualifications--
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an
accredited RN program required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in
Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
- American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support
(BLS) required upon hire
- Minimum--of five (5) years of --relevant experience in a Wound
Care Clinic
- Previous nursing management experience strongly preferred--What
