care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.--Position
OverviewThe Cedar Park Regional Medical Center Wound Care Center
specializes in treating patients with chronic, slow- or non-healing
wounds. We offer evidence-based protocols and cutting-edge
treatment to ensure our patients' wounds heal quickly. Our
specially trained team of doctors, nurses and technicians provide
comprehensive and cost-effective wound care to all patients,
enabling them to return to a full life free from the pain of
chronic wounds.Our multi-disciplinary panel of physicians
specializes in podiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery and
general medicine and offers our patients a well-rounded approach to
wound healing.We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with wound and
ostomy care experience to join our team! This is a Fulltime Day
Shift position working Monday - Friday.--ResponsibilitiesCompletes
admission assessment and periodic reassessments according to
patient's progress and/or unit protocols and age-specific
parametersDocuments findings and communicates all pertinent
information to interdisciplinary team members as
appropriateCollaborates with interdisciplinary team members in the
development, evaluation, and revision of the plan of care as
appropriate to meet the patient's needs and goalsProvides competent
direct care and ensures the provision of a safe and comforting
environment resulting in a high level of patient
satisfactionProvides education to patients/families/significant
others, incorporating age-specific criteria and assessment of
readiness to learnAdministers medications and completes treatments
according to hospital policy and within age-specific
parametersMaintains patient confidentialityMaintains all necessary
documentationFacilitates discharge plan in collaboration with
interdisciplinary teamCoordinates response of the interdisciplinary
team to emergency situationsDemonstrates knowledge and ability to
use necessary patient care equipmentPerforms Point of Care
procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and
procedure. Documents required information and complies with all
Point of Care quality control standardsOther duties as
assigned--Qualifications--Minimum of an Associate's Degree in
Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing (BSN) preferredCurrent license to practice as a Registered
Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon
hireAmerican Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification required upon hireMinimum of two (2) years of
wound care experience in a clinic or an acute care--hospital
setting, preferably in a Wound Care department--Certification in
