Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg (Days)Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best - providing quality care to our patients. Our Medical/Surgical Unit is a 36 bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat patients with a variety of general and specialized surgical procedures, including orthopedic, bariatric, urology, and cardiac. General medical population to include respiratory, endocrine, nephrology, neurology, cardiology and wound care.

Job Duties:

* Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
* Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
* Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
* Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
* Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals

Minimum Requirements:

* Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit preferred
* Orthopedics experience highly desired
* Telemetry experience preferred
