Responsibilities

--- Verify lab orders and follow up on lab results
--- Request and follow up on records request
--- Maintain HIPPA
--- Communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, healthcare team, and others
--- Other clerical/office duties as needed by providers, office manager or the healthcare team
--- Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment
--- Collect blood samples from patients and send to the lab for testing
--- Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff
--- Say hello to patients when they come to the office, answer the phone, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries about prescription refills and treatment to ensure patients have a pleasant experience at our office
--- Complete the patient's insurance forms in their records, notating all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions

Qualifications

--- Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
--- Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
--- Graduated from high school or received GED
--- Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment
--- Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare setting
