This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents according to their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities include: Assisting with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring and repositioning using proper techniques. Facilitating a positive dining experience by assisting with meals and snacks. Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicating changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs. Maintaining cleanliness in living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs. Participating in departmental committees as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum age of 16 years. Prior experience as a nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or obtain certification within four months of employment. Completion of annual competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum of 12 hours required annually). For applicable states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be required.
