Apply now to join our team of anesthesiology professionals in one of the fastest-growing healthcare job markets in the U.S. Job Details – Austin Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Job Title: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Location: Austin, TX (78705) – Texas anesthesiology jobs Openings: 5 positions available Assignment Length: Up to 50 weeks (through December 2026) Start Date: January 14, 2026 (target start April 1, 2026) Shifts per Week: 5 shifts Shift Duration: 8-hour days (10- and 12-hour shifts also available) Total Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $9,489 - $10,543 Practice Setting: Multiple hospital locations in Austin; flexibility to travel between healthcare facilities required Qualifications – Anesthesiologist Requirements M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency program Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (required) Active physician license (Texas medical license preferred; candidates seeking Texas licensure also considered) ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable) Minimum 1 year of anesthesia practice experience in a clinical or hospital setting Proficiency in regional anesthesia (catheter placement), neuraxial techniques for orthopedic and labor & delivery, and labor epidural management Ability to travel between Austin healthcare facilities during shifts Key Responsibilities – Anesthesiology Job Duties Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department Provide comprehensive medical management for patients undergoing surgery and medical procedures Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients and families Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitor patients’ physiological status throughout procedures Perform clinical interventions as needed Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) – MD to CRNA ratio 1:4 – and manage own anesthesia cases Work with a variety of case types including General, Neuro, Orthopedic, and OB anesthesia Discover rewarding locum tenens anesthesiologist jobs in Austin, TX, and enjoy the benefits of working in a top Texas healthcare market.
