Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- HR Manager reports to and works under the direction of the
Company President, and works closely with the line of business
VP/GMs and Region HR team.
- Manages the execution of HR policies, practices, and procedures
to achieve the company's business objectives.
- Partners with managers as a trusted business resource regarding
effective employee relations practices, strategic workforce
planning, employee development and learning initiatives.
- Coordinates with managers and recruiting team to effectively
manage employee onboarding, transfers and termination
processes.
- Provides HR assistance in identifying, evaluating, and
resolving employee relations and work performance problems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state
compliance reporting, employment practice laws and other government
labor regulations.
- Direct, supervise, and perform duties required for hourly
recruitment and employment, including job postings, writing
effective job descriptions, advertisements, interviewing,
screening, reference checks, and making recommendations.
- Direct, and supervise the administration and compliance of
company policies, compensation, benefits, and company programs and
plans.
- Conduct and manage investigations into employee complaints,
hotline calls, and consult with legal as necessary to ensure
compliance.
- Assist managers during scheduled performance management cycles,
including goal planning, career development, mid-year coaching and
year-end reviews.
- Facilitate employee and manager trainings as needed for various
HR-related topics such as harassment, EEO Policies, etc.
- Travel to various company operations and locations to meet and
work with employees.
- Acts as the company representative for the Workforce Commission
unemployment hearings, as needed.
- Develop talent management strategy, identify leadership
competencies, conduct gap analysis, and collaborate with the
division leadership team to develop a talent pipeline/succession
planning.
- Assist in identifying and creating career development plans for
employees.
- Coordinates and facilitates employee engagement activities to
increase employee involvement.
- Initiate and facilitate annual pay increases and IC bonus
incentives.
- Manage HR team and functions to ensure efficiency in meeting
the business needs
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety
policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment
for the task.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is
required.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
QualificationsEducation/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business or a
related field with 5+ years in a Human Resources role.
- PHR or SHRM-CP desired. Construction industry experience
preferred.
- Requires proficient use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, and the ability to work with various software programs
which support HR functions.Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as
outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers
or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers,
supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when
required.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Ability and desire to maintain a high level of
confidentiality.
- Internal and external customer service oriented.
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment
(PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by
OSHA and/or MSHA.
- Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA
regulations.Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Strong financial background essential
- Ability to read, write and compute basic mathematical
calculations
- Ability to use a computer and various software.
- Ability to problem solve and describe work-related
findings.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written
instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well and efficiently with others
- Ability to use sound and accurate judgment about work
processes.
