Hyliion is looking for a Manager, High-Level Software Engineering--to join our engineering team in Austin. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the trucking industry. We are seeking exceptionally talented individuals that are highly motivated to revolutionize an industry, reduce the use of fuel and have some fun.--You will be joining an experienced engineering team in the design, simulation, implementation, and testing of electrical powertrain systems. Reports--to the Vice President of Controls and Software EngineeringResponsible for the development and commercialization of Hyliion's high-end software* Key responsibilities include:* Cloud Security* DevOps* Database Development* Analytics* MCOM* HMI Solutions* Mobile App. DevelopmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing* Experience in:* Cloud Security* AWS* ISO 26262* Software Processes and Quality Assurance* Software Requirements Management* Software Design and Automation* Security and Security Management Methods* Agile V-Model* Database development and analytics* Mobile App. Development* HMI* Experienced with cloud services and API's, particularly REST API's* Experience with communications protocols like CAN, USB, ethernet, TCP/IP* Understanding of networking and networked-computing concepts is required; specifically, synchronization, race conditions, and debugging communication protocols* Competency with modern collaboration tools (like Slack, Jira Service Desk)* Experienced with Atlassian products including Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket* Experienced with agile development processes* Expert in developing high-level software architectures* Strong follow-through and self-starting nature* Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions* The position will involve travel visiting engineering providers and hardware suppliers* Ability to work well in a high-paced environment, set and meet appropriate deadlines* Ability to positively and effectively communicate with customers (internal and external), to address their needs promptly, and follow through on commitmentsRequired Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred* 10 years of experience developing software* 5 years of leadership experiencePhysical Demands: * Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, feel, or reach with hands and arms* Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance visionWork Environment:* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderateFLSA: Exempt (Salaried)Hyliion is committed to diversity and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
