About the Role: We’re looking for a Senior Operations Engineer with deep handson experience supporting complex infrastructure and production systems within a regulated environment. In this role, you’ll lead troubleshooting efforts, oversee deployments and system changes, and ensure high availability and performance across core operational platforms. You’ll partner with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to resolve issues, improve system resilience, and support the technology that powers life insurance and annuity operations. What You’ll Do: Own System Reliability and Performance Own the stability, uptime, and performance of servers, applications, and cloud environments supporting life insurance and annuity operations Proactively identify risks and performance issues, ensuring systems remain reliable in a highly regulated, missioncritical environment Lead Incident Response and Troubleshooting Lead investigation and resolution of outages, performance degradation, and failed deployments Diagnose issues at the root by analyzing logs, configurations, infrastructure, and application behavior Fix issues directly and make sound decisions to minimize business impact, including rolling back changes when needed Drive Deployments and Automation Lead and execute deployments, system updates, and production changes across environments Write and maintain scripts to eliminate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency Automate deployments, monitoring, scaling, and recovery to strengthen system resilience Partner Across Engineering and Infrastructure Teams Work closely with the Infrastructure Team to support networking, storage, compute resources, and cloud platforms Partner with Development and DBA teams to ensure issues are identified early, logged accurately, and resolved effectively Serve as a trusted technical partner in planning and executing system changes and implementations Build and Maintain Operational Pipelines Maintain and improve pipelines for code releases and operational changes Ensure deployments are repeatable, welldocumented, and aligned with best practices for reliability and security Mentor and Lead by Example Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and modeling strong operational practices Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and implementation guides that improve team effectiveness and consistency Support AfterHours Operations Participate in oncall rotations and provide support during evenings, nights, or weekends as needed to ensure continuous system availability What You’ll Bring: Strong process driven mindset with emphasis on designing workflows that reduce human error and operational risk Demonstrated commitment to security best practices and risk management, including proactive identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities Strong ability to document processes and procedures Core Competencies: Operational Excellence: Owns system reliability, performance, and uptime in missioncritical, regulated environments Technical Leadership: Leads complex troubleshooting, automation, and deployments with sound judgment and handson expertise Problem Solving: Diagnoses and resolves issues at the root by analyzing systems, infrastructure, logs, and configurations Automation & Efficiency: Leverages scripting and automation to eliminate manual work and improve scalability and resilience Communication: Clearly documents systems and communicates risks, incidents, and resolutions to technical and business partners Ownership & Accountability: Operates autonomously, takes responsibility for outcomes, and drives issues through to resolution Collaboration: Partners effectively with Infrastructure, Development, and DBA teams to support shared operational goals Mentorship: Coaches and mentors junior engineers, reinforcing best practices and strengthening team capability Adaptability: Thrives in highpressure environments with oncall responsibilities and rapidly evolving priorities Strategic Thinking: Aligns operational decisions with business continuity, risk management, and longterm system health What We Offer: A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what’s next A variable compensation package with a base range of $75K–$85K A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance Remote/hybrid work arrangement At Prosperity, we are committed to equal employment opportunities and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
