its clients.The RoleNorton Rose Fulbright is expanding its
Knowledge Management (KM) team and hiring Knowledge Lawyers for
each of our Corporate M&A and Disputes practices. The Knowledge
Lawyer manages the development of and access to core practice
content for practitioners in the assigned area of law and
contributes to internal and external firm publications,
presentations, and training. These individuals' partner with the
lawyers in their respective practice group to identify attorney
knowledge management needs and work to improve the practice groups'
access to substantive resources, appropriate technological
solutions, and other workflow tools.This position reports to the
Director of Knowledge & Research Services and collaborates across
multiple stakeholders, including other Knowledge Lawyers, Research
Services, Innovation, Technology, Talent Development, and Marketing
and Business Development to enhance, develop and implement practice
group KM with a focus on increasing technology-enabled practice
efficiency and optimizing client service delivery. The ideal
candidate will have practiced law for 5+ years in mid-to-large law
firms.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge and know-how management
- In coordination with firm attorneys, create, develop, and
maintain model documents, forms, drafting guidance, and practice
group resource material, ensuring they are continuously curated,
updated and organized on the firm's chosen content sharing
platforms (e.g., DMS, intranet).
- Verify data accuracy with KM systems, ensuring consistent
application and compliance with KM taxonomies.
- Monitor compliance of data collection workflows, including
regular evaluation of effectiveness of data collection processes,
collaborating with key stakeholders to develop new workflows and
processes as needed.
- Evaluate and update workflows using practice group resources
and technologies to enhance efficiency in common matter types and
develop and update practice specific processes.
- Meet regularly with attorneys to facilitate the sharing of
quality know-how and expertise, and curate and maintain practice
sites and know-how repositories to ensure they align with practice
needs and remain up to date.Knowledge strategy and lawyer education
- Work with attorneys in assigned practice groups, the innovation
team, and the knowledge team to assess and address the knowledge
needs of the practice groups, aligning with business goals.
- Execute the knowledge strategy of the firm by promoting the use
of internal databases and search engines, and by devising and
implementing systems for know-how collection (research notes,
transactional documents, training material, etc.).
- Assist the Director of Knowledge in the identification of
emerging knowledge management tools, as relevant to the practice of
law and enhancing practice efficiency.
- Provide ongoing lawyer and business professional training on KM
tools, resources, and best practices.
- Evaluate new and innovative KM and research tools, workflows,
and technology based on practice group needs; participate in
technology pilots and assessments in partnership with the
Innovation team.Industry research and thought leadership
- Serve as a source of legal, market and practical expertise,
advising lawyers on legal issues they face in their practice and
matters.
- Monitor and share with practitioners recent, relevant legal
developments and current market practice developments and
trends.
- Regularly review internal and publicly available market
intelligence to identify market trends.
- Keep current on relevant case law and statutes.
- Inform the practice group of substantive legal developments via
internal communications and memoranda and practice group training
sessions.
- Identify topics of interest for thought leadership content and
articles.
- Contribute content to internal and external firm publications,
presentations, and training.Client support and business development
- Provide knowledge support to business development initiatives,
including supporting the key industry sectors and Key Client
initiatives of Norton Rose Fulbright.
- Contribute content to pitches and RFPs.Other dutiesPlease note

- Candidates must have a J.D., be admitted to practice in at
least one jurisdiction in the United States and have no less than
five (5) years of relevant practice experience in mid-to-large law
firms.
- Highly motivated with a strategic focus and ability to
understand and support firm goals, services, culture, and strategy;
understands and stays up to date on current legal market trends,
news, and innovations.
- Advanced proficiency in researching and drafting legal
documents and content, such as transactional documents, legal
memoranda, pleadings, and/or motions.
- Candidates must have strong writing abilities, including
technical contract, drafting skills, the ability to communicate
clearly, and excellent research skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with
department and firm personnel, management, other attorneys, and
business professionals.
- Advanced experience in designing and delivering successful,
interesting and innovative training programs, targeted to the
audience.
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management
skills including record keeping, data collection and system
information.
- Exhibit high degree of initiative in managing multiple
priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven,
detail-oriented work environment.
- Dependable team player with high energy, creativity and vision
who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a
team-oriented environment.
- Ability to exercise judgement, high level of confidentiality
and diplomacy at all times.
- Computer proficient with strong understanding in Microsoft
Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and other
various legal search engines and online research tools.
- Advanced proficiency in legal research techniques, online
research, and legal research databases.
- Familiarity with document management and other KM
software.
