The Cedar Park Regional Medical Center Wound Care Center is an outpatient clinic that specializes in treating patients with chronic, slow- or non-healing wounds. Position Overview

The Cedar Park Regional Medical Center Wound Care Center is an outpatient clinic that specializes in treating patients with chronic, slow- or non-healing wounds. We offer evidence-based protocols and cutting-edge treatment to ensure our patients' wounds heal quickly. Our specially trained team of doctors, nurses and technicians provide comprehensive and cost-effective wound care to all patients, enabling them to return to a full life free from the pain of chronic wounds.

Our multi-disciplinary panel of physicians specializes in podiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery and general medicine and offers our patients a well-rounded approach to wound healing.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with Wound Care experience to join our team! This is a PRN Day Shift position in our out patient clinic.



Responsibilities

Completes admission assessment and periodic reassessments according to patients progress and/or unit protocols and age-specific parameters

Documents findings and communicates all pertinent information to interdisciplinary team members as appropriate

Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in the development, evaluation, and revision of the plan of care as appropriate to meet the patients needs and goals

Provides competent direct care and ensures the provision of a safe and comforting environment resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction

Provides education to patients/families/significant others, incorporating age-specific criteria and assessment of readiness to learn

Administers medications and completes treatments according to hospital policy and within age-specific parameters

Maintains patient confidentiality

Maintains all necessary documentation

Facilitates discharge plan in collaboration with interdisciplinary team

Coordinates response of the interdisciplinary team to emergency situations

Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use necessary patient care equipment

Performs Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure. Documents required information and complies with all Point of Care quality control standards

Other duties as assigned



Qualifications



Minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire

American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire

Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in an acute carehospital setting, preferably in a Wound Care department

Certification in Wound Care and Diabetic Educator preferred
