Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

With the addition of our new Free-Standing ED in Leander, we now have two locations to serve our community's urgent care needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Emergency Room Coordinator (RN) to join our team! The Clinical Coordinator performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs. This includes planning, organizing, and managing the personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality care with trained, professional, and competent staff in the most cost effective and productive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Services department
  • Assumes a leadership role in the maintenance of the patient-focused care delivery system
  • Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical skills and the ability to assist others to achieve quality care skills
  • Assists in directing and guiding staff in the coordination of unit operations
  • Assigns patients to appropriate health practitioners
  • Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow
  • Supervision and management of staff, including training and development of a high quality team for care
  • Participates in developing other staff and affiliating students
  • Ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner
  • Maintains competencies needed to properly care for patients in the ED
  • Maintains and promotes a team spirit through active cooperation and collaboration
  • Effectively applies prioritization and time management to patient's care
  • Consults other departments as appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the knowledge base for ED staff
  • Reports to the Director of Emergency Services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days of hire. TNCC required within one year of hire
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a hospital Emergency Room setting required
  • Experience in a management or supervisory role desired
  • Must have schedule flexibility to cover all shifts and weekends, as hospital needs demand
