  Full Job DescriptionDescriptionResponsibilities
  • Mentors and develops less-experienced team members to continuously improve overall team capability
  • Researches new and emerging technologies, providing technical direction for future products/applications
  • Performs electrical design activities and provides technical expertise from product concept to HVM release
  • Ensures product design compliance to all applicable technical standards, specifications, and requirements
  • Develops test plans and facilitates testing according to industry standards and engineering best practices
  • Thoroughly and precisely documents all engineering activities according to standard processes
  • Follows data-driven methodology to inform design and investigative efforts, utilizing the full engineering toolkit
  • Accurately maintains all product electrical specifications, schematics, and interconnect diagrams
  • Drives the engineering change management process as the design stage lead for all assigned programs
  • Supports the Field Service team with legacy product troubleshooting and root cause investigations

    • Proficient in implementing and executing industry best practices for electrical design work / processes
    • Capable to perform electrical design and basic systems analysis using relevant engineering software
    • Knowledgeable of DFx best practices for assembly, manufacturing, service, cost, and quality
    • Knowledgeable of engineering root cause analysis methodologies, including FMEA and 8D
    • Knowledgeable of engineering design of experiments (DOE) methodology and applications
    • Experience using basic electronic assembly tools to build proofs-of-concept and/or prototypes
      Required Education and Qualifications
      • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college (Master's degree is a plus)
      • 8+ years electrical and/or design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
      • Or equivalent combination of experience
        Preferred Education and Qualifications
        • Experience designing packaged electromechanical systems, ideally for use in heavy equipment
        • Experience designing products for rugged environments (shock/vibration, hazardous area, submersible, etc.)
        • Experience designing for interface via CANBUS, Ethernet, Modbus, C, and/or Telemetrics protocols
        • Knowledgeable of industry-standard lithium-ion battery system technologies and design elements
        • Knowledgeable of industry-standard lithium-ion battery system battery management software
          Physical RequirementsTypical physical requirements for this role may include the following:
          • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
          • May be asked to lift up to 50 lbs. at times
          • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
          • Exposed to quiet to medium noise levels in a manufacturing environment
          • Exposure to high voltage systems
          • Travel, up to 15%
