Job Description:
Position Summary: The Inventory Manager will ensure that all
inventory items are properly managed, identifiable, stored, and
maintained while working with other departments for accuracy.
Additionally, this individual will ensure the proper environmental
requirements are met and maintained.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Execute daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves
discrepancies and problems
- Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions
and stock numbers
- Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock
numbers to assist order processors
- Communicates with other departments as needed regarding new
items, changes of location, counts, etc.
- Understand how the technology is used for quantity and location
accuracy
- Work with the warehouse team to ensure returns are processed
correctly : good product returned to shelf; bad product discarded
appropriately
- Maintain and upkeep records for ensuring accuracy in good items
and rejecting unsatisfactory items.
- Coordinate with warehouse team to perform regular cycle counts,
verify received supplies for correct amount and specifications, and
to eliminate inventory.
- Works with remote on and off sight team members to investigate
and resolve inventory issues or discrepancies or research inventory
transactions.
- Work with purchasing to forecast demand for product, raw
product, and supplies to be produced and delivered more
efficiently.
- Compares information on purchase orders, invoices, and shipping
notices to material received or issued to verify accuracy of
order.
- Analyze orders for availability and coordinate with other
members of management to suggest alternates or solutions should
issues arise.
- Coordinates with team members to ensure order fulfillment
accuracy.
- Performs other duties as required.Supervisory
Responsibilities:This position supervises all employees, temps, and
contractors working within the Inventory department.Education and
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' of supervisory experience working
within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S desirable
- Bachelor's degree in business, warehousing, operations, or
other related field required.Required Skills:
