Job Description Job Description Salary: Job Description We are
seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support
second-shift fatigue and structural testing of aerospace components
and assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for
the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
sensors and data acquisition systems used in fatigue, durability,
and structural testing of aircraft structures. Key Responsibilities
Install strain gauges, thermocouples, accelerometers, displacement
transducers, and other instrumentation on aerospace test articles
according to engineering requirements. Set up and calibrate data
acquisition systems (DAQ), signal conditioners, and control systems
for fatigue testing. Route and secure instrumentation wiring in
accordance with best practices to ensure data integrity and
durability through long-duration tests. Assist in test setup and
configuration, including hydraulic or electromechanical load
application systems. Perform regular inspections and maintenance on
instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable test data. Monitor
real-time test data and troubleshoot sensor or signal issues as
needed. Work closely with test engineers, design engineers, and
other technicians to support timely execution of test campaigns.
Document instrumentation installations, calibration data, and
system configurations. Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure
proper handling of high-voltage, high-pressure, and mechanically
loaded systems. Qualifications Education: Associate degree or
technical certification in Electronics, Instrumentation, Aerospace
Technology, or a related field. Equivalent military or hands-on
experience considered. Experience: 57 years of experience in
instrumentation or testing, preferably in the aerospace or
automotive industry. Proficient in the use of data acquisition
systems (e.g., NI, HBM, LMS, DEWESoft, etc.). Strong understanding
of sensor types and signal conditioning. Skilled in soldering,
wiring, and mechanical assembly techniques. Ability to interpret
engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical
specifications. Familiarity with fatigue and durability testing
principles is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a
team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to provide tools required
for the position. Must be able to obtain and maintain required
airport security clearance and airfield access privileges.
Preferred Qualifications MTS hydraulic control system experience.
Load frame experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to
50 pounds. Comfortable working in confined spaces or on elevated
platforms when needed. Fine motor skills for detailed wiring and
sensor installation. Work Environment Exposure to high-decibel test
environments, moving mechanical parts, and temperature variations.
PPE (personal protective equipment) required during specific tasks.
